I’m working on improving colors of my portfolio site. Using coolors.co for color combos and Pinterest for color inspiration. I feel like a combo of these two works really well for now atleast.

So far I’ve tried so many palettes, but none seem to be working so far unfortunately. Hoping for the best.
It’s so interesting to figure out which tools/ sites to use for good color palette of my site. Such simple things, but they make so much of a difference.

Now I tried using Realtimecolors website for visualizing how the site would look like with those colors, and I feel like this is such a nice concept. But the whole process sounds a bit complex right now, take inspiration from Pinterest, find a good color combo from Coolors and then visualize it in Realtimecolors. Let’s see if there’s any way in which I can simplify it.

Also, earlier just figuring out the favicons took forever, didn’t see that coming xD

I just realised that I can use the color combos from the portfolio site trials, for my blog site. Going to try it. Also just found a good layout for my blog posts <3

Can’t wait for the next one already.

It was so inspiring to see others ideas, their finished demos.

I had an initial plan of working on my bike app Spoke Record, but later decided to work on HuddleUp gamification of sports idea. But I couldn’t do much out of it. Very bare minimum UI, so didn’t really have anything to present, maybe next time I would pick up speed and do better.

But the entire time I was there I was fully focused, worked on my project, drank, ate. Had a really good time. Even met another girl there, and we hit it off with our conversations I feel. Since there are very less girls at such events, I was glad I met her.

Here’s a pdf of all the demos of the night for easy short descriptions:
Lightning demos · Claude Build Night (PDF)

Also you should really check out this grill-me skill by Matt Pocock, I used it and found it to be really useful: https://github.com/mattpocock/skills Alexander Eiswirth suggested this skill to me, so thanks to him, learnt something new & useful!
Here’s a summary of the skill: Matt Pocock’s “grill-me” is a skill for AI coding agents (like Claude Code) that forces the AI to interview you about a task before writing any code, asking one clarifying question at a time instead of guessing at your requirements. It walks through decisions like edge cases and scope, offering a recommended answer for each, and only proceeds once you’ve confirmed shared understanding. It’s meant as a fast, lightweight planning step to catch ambiguity early, before it turns into wasted implementation work.

I made so much progress. My main goal was to finish my portfolio as much as possible and get started with writing blog posts at the earliest. This would be my first article writing from the Jekyll admin site, if it gets published properly, then newer blog posts would be easier hereon.

I considered adding authentication, hosting on Netlify etc, but that would take a lot of time, so I thought for now, this admin site does the job. Later I can switch to hosting it on another platform than Github once I have more time. To be honest, Claude helped to speeden up this process a lot, otherwise it would be very easy to get stuck in this process in several places.

On a side note, I finally got my own bike, a Cube Kathmandu One bike!

I’ve been raving about it non-stop. Can’t stop thinking about it. Waited for so long to get this bike, and it’s so worth it, only wish I’d got more time to use it in the summer, nevertheless, I’m very very excited about it. I did a lot of research before getting this bike, so I wanted to publish that info along with the title “How to find a really good trekking bike as a Non-german in Germany”. Hopefully I should be able to add this blog post soon.

I figured out the Jekyll thing, feels so damn good. The issue was Smart App Control in Windows which was blocking Ruby from getting installed.

Omggg !!!!, I can’t believe I finally reached this point where I migrated all the blog posts from the previous html only format to this Jekyll format. This is too delightful xD <3 <3 <3

Now I can understand a little bit better about the pain of migrating entire platforms from one version to another xD, it is just insane!

It’s better to decide early on what format to use!

Here, I knew I wanted to do away with html-only format, since its too basic, but writing some or the other thing was more important than not writing anything at all, so all-in-all good progress so far.

The crohet journey first post looks so pretty with the pictures <3
And finally, I don’t have to use line breaks manually each and every time anymore! Yayyy ! <3

Now have to make the custom changes of colors, design etc which would take a lot of time.

So for now, I’ve pushed my changes and the site is live and it looks so prettyyy <3 <3 <3

Will do the modifications later on just like for the blog.

For now, it’s ready for me to start blogging <3

I’m so glad that LLMs exist, otherwise I would have probably been stuck at some steps and gotten too demotivated to continue or finish it since it would take forever. It helps since I can’t take all the time in the world to just setup me website when I should also get started on projects.

Blog post #5 Finally installed Ruby, it was just a windows issue, and reverted back my laptop language to English since it was very difficult to debug my issues when the popup messages and everything was in German!
Now I want to start writing about my process of starting to learn crocheting.
But I feel that creating a new html page for each blog post and adding a 100 “
” s would be redundant,
so I’m checking how to create my own blog site.

Initially considered using Wordpress, Medium which I’ve used before, or Substack which I believe has a
good subscription model. But I think I want something like hosting my own site rather than depending on
a platform which might or might not exist tomorrow

Now, let’s see how this goes <3

Currently I’m looking up a YT video on how to use Jekyll with Github pages:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6AJ9qPPoyc

Found out that you can use Jekyll pages to do what I want to do, saw 3 themes: Clean Blog, Centrarium
and Contrast which I liked from jekyllthemes.io and liked “Contrast” Jekyll theme the most.

Okay, it’s almost midnight and I just need to wrap it up for today, so going to call it a day.
Will try to install Ruby tomorrow, never thought there be so many issues to just install it!

Also meanwhile, planning to write my blogs in word docs till I can figure out the Jekyll thing.

15 Mar 2026

Story so far:

27 Feb: Found crochet hooks set in Tedi finally but didn’t buy it since I was not sure if I wanted to buy it or not

2 Mar: Went there again, but decided on buying it from Aktion since it was a prettier hooks set there, and even the threads were available. So yeah, finally bought it, first step done <3
Going to try to take better pictures next time xD

3 Mar: Day 1 of crochet trial probably, since I didn’t record the dates specifically, found a YT tutorial which was pretty good, but searched a few others only to get confused and returned to the original one! Since I usually give up on my hobbies soon, I am determined to do much better this time

Did this trial and error over a period of 4-5 days with a lot of bad single crochets.

14Mar: Found out that my cousin sister/best friend also did crochet from a whatsapp story of hers and couldn’t have been happier, I guess that’s what reminded me to try again today <3

15Mar:
So today is the day I made the most progress on my crocheting journey(6th or 7th day of trying this), I finally got a single crochet done and did upto 4-5 layers of it and also made a small, cute little purse ! <3 <3

I’m so happy. I’m also hoping that writing this blog would keep me accountable to this whole process.

I felt like I got lost in the process when I was crocheting, didn’t even realise when 1.5 hours had passed. Also I understood that the best way to move forward with this is to be okay with mistakes, even when I put the thread through the wrong loop, I continued, especially since I also felt more confident this time while doing it. Earlier for every small mistake I was restarting repeatedly.
It feels so nice to do this instead of using mobile, learning a new skill also. Too cool.
I keep thinking this is one of the hobbies that you can teach to someone else, reminded me of a school project where we had to teach someone how to tie a tie etc, and document it.

Blog post #4 (Crochet1) 15 Mar 2026 Story so far: 27 Feb: Found crochet hooks set in Tedi finally but didn’t buy it since I was not sure if I wanted to buy it or not 2 Mar: Went there again, but decided on buying it from Aktion since it was a prettier hooks set there, and even the threads were available.
